Challenge

The main goals of the Brazilian mining company are to improve work efficiency and resource usage, while also being more environmentally friendly and cost-effective. The current lighting is insufficient, and the visibility for miners during operations is low, which greatly affects work efficiency. At the same time, the current lighting consumes a large amount of electricity, and the maintenance costs are high, which is a significant expense for the company. The company's project manager is looking for suitable lighting fixtures to address these challenges. These fixtures need to operate in high-temperature and harsh environments, provide reliable lighting in both normal and emergency modes, and meet the requirements of reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.

Solution

After their project manager discussed their situation with us in detail, we designed a lighting solution for their mining operations based on their needs. 

l We selected our products flood light JR304, JR309, and JR319 for the solution. These products have high luminous efficiency and wide coverage, providing stable and uniform lighting. They are suitable for flammable and explosive environments and feature waterproof, dustproof, and impact-resistant properties. This improves operational safety and ensures normal functioning in harsh environments. 

l Intelligent lighting control system. The smart lighting system, combined with sensors and remote control, can adjust light intensity based on operational needs and even automatically turn lights on or off. This improves energy efficiency, reduces unnecessary energy consumption, and extends the lifespan of the lighting fixtures.

LED flood lights have a high Color Rendering Index (CRI), typically above 80, which means they accurately reproduce the true colors of objects. This is essential for mine workers when operating equipment and identifying ores or objects. The lights precisely illuminate the work areas of the mine, improving both work efficiency and safety.

JR lighting flood light generate low heat, reducing the risk of overheating and improving work safety, especially in flammable and explosive environments. They can light up instantly without needing to preheat, which is crucial in emergency situations, providing sufficient light quickly.

l LED flood lights consume about 50%-70% less energy than traditional lighting equipment, such as incandescent and halogen lamps. Continuous operations in mining require extensive lighting, and using LED lights can significantly reduce energy costs.

l Our flood lights have a lifespan of over 50,000 hours, much longer than traditional light sources. In harsh mining environments where frequent maintenance is difficult, this reduces the need for replacements and maintenance, lowering maintenance costs and minimizing downtime. They also remain stable under extreme conditions, such as vibration, dust, and moisture. 

After implementing the lighting solution we designed, the efficiency of the miners has significantly improved, and safety incidents caused by lighting fixtures have become rare. Spending on electricity and maintenance has greatly decreased as well. The company's performance has steadily improved, with revenue doubling after two years.
