LED floodlights typically offer several installation methods to suit different building structures and lighting needs. The most common is wall mounting: using the U-shaped bracket on the back of the floodlight, the fixture is fixed to a wall, column, or eaves. Expansion bolts (usually M6, M8, or M10) are required to ensure a secure connection between the bracket and the wall. When wall mounting, ensure the bracket can withstand the weight of the fixture and wind loads. For high-power (>200W) floodlights, additional safety chains may be needed to prevent falls.
The second method is ground-mounted installation: for upward lighting in gardens and lawns, ground-mounted poles (stainless steel or galvanized pipe) can be inserted into the soil, and the floodlight is then fixed to the top of the pole. This installation method is simple and does not require a foundation, but it has lower stability and may tilt in windy weather. It is suitable for small floodlights (≤50W).
The third method is clamp installation: when installing on round poles or pipes, U-bolts or special clamps are used to fix the fixture to the pole. This method is commonly seen in stadium high-mast lights and streetlights with attached floodlights. The clamps need to match the pole diameter and be padded with rubber pads to prevent slippage.
The fourth method is ceiling mounting: Some floodlights are designed to directly adhere to the ceiling or wall, eliminating the need for a U-shaped bracket; instead, they are secured via screw holes at the bottom. This installation method is mostly used indoors.
The fifth method is tripod or portable stand: Portable LED floodlights come with folding tripods or wheeled stands for convenient temporary lighting (such as at construction sites, performances, and emergency rescues).
Regardless of the installation method, it is essential to ensure the light fixture does not sway under maximum wind force, and that the cable inlet faces downwards or uses a waterproof connector to prevent rainwater from flowing back along the cable. For installations at heights (over 3 meters), it is recommended to use safety belts and tool ropes to prevent falls.
