First, the LED junction temperature (the temperature of the LED chip itself) is critical; for every 10°C reduction in temperature, the lifespan can roughly double. Products with poor thermal management—even those using branded LED chips—may suffer from severe light output degradation within just two to three years.
Second, the quality of the LED driver. Electrolytic capacitors within the driver are vulnerable components; in high-temperature environments, electrolyte evaporation leads to reduced capacitance, causing increased output ripple or voltage instability, which ultimately results in flickering or total fixture failure. High-quality drivers utilize long-life electrolytic capacitors or solid-state capacitors and incorporate overheat protection.
Third, the operating environment.
