What should be done if the high-mast light control system malfunctions?

High-mast light control system malfunctions typically manifest as: failure to switch on/off at scheduled times, inability to perform remote control, lack of response to remote commands, or abnormal indicator light status. The troubleshooting steps are as follows:

1. Check the control power supply: Verify if the control system's auxiliary power supply (usually 24V DC or 12V DC) is functioning correctly. Measure the output of the power supply module; if there is no voltage, replace the power supply unit.

2. Check clock settings: For time-controlled switches, verify that the current time is accurate and the schedule settings are correct (paying special attention to the day of the week and daylight saving time). Reset the time or replace the battery (if the switch has a backup battery).

3. Check the light sensor: If a light-control function is used (automatic switching based on ambient brightness), cover the sensor with a dark cloth to see if it triggers an action. If it does not respond, clean the sensor lens or replace the sensor.

4. Check remote communication: For systems with 4G, Wi-Fi, or RS485 remote control capabilities, check if the communication module's indicator lights are flashing normally. Ping the controller's IP address using a mobile phone or computer (if supported). Check if the SIM card has run out of credit or if the antenna connection is loose.

5. Check intermediate relays: Control systems often utilize small relays; their contacts may oxidize, or their coils may burn out. Listen for the clicking sound of the relay engaging and measure contact continuity. Replace any damaged relays.

6. Check the PLC or microcontroller: If the above checks are normal but the system remains unresponsive, the main controller's program may have crashed, or there may be a hardware failure. Try power-cycling the system (hard reset). If it still fails to operate after a restart, contact the manufacturer to replace the controller or re-flash the program.

7. Check wiring: Refer to the circuit diagram to inspect all terminal blocks inside the control box for looseness or oxidation. Pay particular attention to the polarity of communication lines (A and B). System reliability depends heavily on wiring quality; therefore, keep the interior of the control box dry and clean during routine maintenance to prevent dust and moisture accumulation.
