How often should the wiring connections of LED high-bay lights be inspected?
Wiring connections (terminal blocks, connectors) are common points of electrical failure; the recommended inspection intervals are as follows:
General environments: Inspect every 6 months; retighten terminals with a screwdriver and check for oxidation or discoloration.
High-vibration environments (e.g., stamping or crushing workshops): Inspect every 3 months; consider using anti-loosening washers or thread-locking adhesive.
High-temperature environments: Inspect every 3 months, as thermal expansion and contraction can cause loosening.
Humid environments: Inspect every 3 months and check terminals for corrosion.
Inspection items include:
1) Whether terminal screws are loose;
2) Whether wire insulation is charred or brittle;
3) Whether connectors are securely plugged in and free of oxidation;
4) Whether the grounding wire is reliably connected.
Tighten any loose connections immediately; if oxidation is found, sand the surface or replace the terminal. For quick-connect/disconnect connectors, annual replacement is recommended (due to metal fatigue). Maintain inspection records to prevent overheating or fire caused by poor contact.
